Accommodations at Silver Springs Mountain Retreat
The Lodge
Sky Lodge is a furnished dwelling on the ridge top with a park adjoining and a view of distant mountains. The single open room downstairs, 20 x 20, contains a kitchen and living room with fireplace. Upstairs is a master bedroom with double bed, a bedroom with two bunk beds and a meditation room with a day bed. Privy, solar electricity, running water. Insulated, with woodstove for year-round use.
Heart Cabin
Heart Cabin is a one-room furnished cabin, 16 x 16, with double bed. Solar electricity, privy, cold running water, refrigerator, stove with oven, well-insulated with woodstove for year-round use.
Campsites
Campsites are secluded one from another and offer a supply of spring water as well as use of the central bathing area and recreational facilities. Some campsites are shady, in tall trees. Buena Vista is sunny with a view of the Chanchelulla Wilderness Area.
Tent Camps
Camp Shasta, on the edge of the canyon, offers a view of the Trinity Alps and Mount Shasta 94 miles away. Hawk's Nest, notched into the side of a ridge, enjoys the same view. Spring Camp, close to the water table, is cool and shady. Forest Camp is in an old-growth grove. All tent camps are equipped with tent, camp bed, foam mattress and top sheet, water, camp stove, cooler, cooking ware and tableware, table, chair, solar shower, kerosene lamp or Coleman lantern.
Bathing Area
Bathtubs side by side on the lip of the canyon look out over the next forested ridge to the Chanchelulla Wilderness Area beyond.
Solar Water Heater
Water is pumped from the spring to the bathing area by solar energy where it is heated to high temperature by a breadbox solar water heater.
